I found my banner on Cutest Blog on the Block, http://thecutestblogontheblock.com. I love their designs! I knew I wanted my website name on the front, so on my Mac (using Pages), I added layers. Once I finished my design, I took a screen shot by clicking › Command › Shift › 4 simultaneously and there you go... the final image is saved to your Desktop without having to use PhotoShop. I wanted a transparent background (FYI—checkerboard background means transparent) so I used LunaPic! It's not as fun-loving as Picnik was—I loved using Picnik, but since it's no longer available, LunaPic is wonderful substitute. Check it out and have fun!

So, you want to erase a background from an image, but you do not have
PhotoShop or one of those expensive programs. Now, you can make any
image background transparent...for FREE! I love, love, love LunaPic.
It is an online photo editor that can do a multitude of effects and
edits to you images. I use to make my images transparent, but it can do
so much more. http://www.lunapic.com
